Constantine Is Now Dead According To Executive Producer Daniel Cerone
Last month, NBC officially passed on a second season of the comic book-based television series Constantine. Since then, fans have tried to save the show, encouraging other networks to pickup it up. Sadly, executive producer Daniel Cerone revealed today that Constantine is officially dead.
Daniel Cerone broke the news via Twitter:
I promised I'd share news when I had it -- sadly, that news is not good. The cast and writers of Constantine are being released from their contracts. The studio tried to find a new home for the show, for which we're forever grateful, but those efforts didn't pan out. I'm sorry, I wasn't provided any information on the attempts to sell the show elsewhere. All I can report is that the show is over.
Many ingredients went into this TV series. From the dedicated cast that breathed these characters to life, led by Matt Ryan as the comic-made-flesh embodiment of John Constantine, to the exceptionality talented crew that put unreal images on screen, to the original Hellblazer writers and artists who gifted us a universe.
As a general principle, writers don't choose a writing career to achieve stardom. Whatever demons or insecurities drove them to find freedom of expression through written words generally keeps writers comfortably obscure behind their words. Nor do people choose writing as a means to financial freedom. I'd venture to guess that most who set out to write professionally never receive a paycheck for their hopeful scribbles or key strokes.
In fact, nobody I know ever chose a writing career -- it chose them. You write because that's what you do. Like breathing, it just happens and you have to do it and you just hope that someday somebody out there notices what you're trying to say.
If that's the dream of writers, than the writers of Constantine lived the dream, because we're leaving behind wild and passionate fans who believe in and were moved by what we tried to do. To leave such a significant, dedicated and active fan base on the table -- that's the real sadness. You all deserve many years of the series we set out to make, and we're disappointed that we couldn't deliver that to you. The good news is that Constantine will live on for years in many more forms. But our time as caretakers has ended.
Constantine was put into a difficult Friday night time slot, where many shows go to die. Not exactly the best spot to debut a show, but it was put right next to Grimm which is another supernatural television series that has flourished on that night. Constantine never had a large audience, but it did develop a cult following in its short stint.
If you want to look for a silver lining, there's a chance the character could appear in Guillermo del Toro's Justice League Dark film whenever he gets around to putting that together.

Matthew McConaughey admits being offered Marvel and DC scripts
Don’t rule out seeing Matthew McConaughey in a future comic-book movie universe after he teased projects in a recent interview.
Speaking to Variety ahead of his Cannes Film Festival appearance - he’s starring in Gus Van Sant’s in competition effort, The Sea Of Trees - the Oscar-winner admitted that he’s read several comic-book scripts from rival publishing/production houses Marvel and DC.
Asked if he’d ever go in for a superhero flick, McConaughey responded, “I’ve read some Marvel and DC scripts and I’ve talked about working with them on some scripts, none of which I’ll share with you what they are — or were. Yeah, I’ve circled some of those. Nothing has been right for me yet. But I’m sure open to it.”
He went on to explain that he’d be hesitant to contract himself to a multi-picture deal unless he was sure that he’d want to return to the story and character again and again.
McConaughey’s changeable charisma and varying physicality (he shed his famous muscles for his role in Dallas Buyers Club) mean he could be well suited to playing a pretty wide range of characters from any comic movie-verse. Although let’s not forget, he was rumoured for Captain America (along with a host of other A-listers) before Chris Evans landed the role.
Speculation is obviously going to mount after McConaughey’s admission, so which comic-book character would you like to see him as? And which scripts do you imagine he was offered? Let us know in the comments section below…

Spider-Man Is Appearing In Captain America Civil War
Sony and Marvel Discussed Spider-Man Appearing in 'Captain America: Civil War'
The details were revealed in hacked email correspondences involving Amy Pascal and Bob Iger
According to emails released during a recent hack on Sony Pictures, the studio and Marvel-owner Disney have discussed teaming for an animated Spider-Man comedy — and to have the superhero show up in 2016's Captain America: Civil War.
The emails were sent to and from Sony motion picture chief Amy Pascal and included correspondences with Sony CEO Kaz Hirai and Disney CEO Bob Iger, according to The Wall Street Journal.
An Oct. 30 email from Sony Pictures president Doug Belgrad to Pascal discussed the possibility of Marvel producing a new Spider-Man trilogy that would see Sony retain "creative control, marketing and distribution."
Sony holds licensing rights to produce Spider-Man movies, though some Marvel fans have suggested the property should be returned so the hero could appear in Marvel Studios films. In the 2006 comic book storyline Civil War, Spider-Man plays a key role, which also had fans wishing he could appear in the film version.

ITS ALL CONNECTED TO MR.EDWIN JARVIS(Howard Stark's Butler)
Mr.Edwin Jarvis was like Tony Stark's J.A.R.V.I.S. (A.I. Super-Computer-Server)
As We Seen In Agent Carter T.V. Series Mr.Jarvis always supports Agent Peggy Carter for her Secrete Mission of S.H.I.E.L.D.
And Now...Tony Stark's J.A.R.V.I.S. BECOMES VISION IN AVENGERS : AGE OF ULTRON
Description: Paul Bettany who has given his voice for Tony Stark's J.A.R.V.I.S becomes Vision in Avengers: Age Of Ultron which means J.A.R.V.I.S. is Immortal who always stay with Tony Stark and his father Howard Stark, Hmm.. so something is still mysterious about Mr.Jarvis that we will see in Marvel's Agent Carter TV Series
Peggy Carter with Mr. Edwin Jarvis
